Boarding High Schools

Boarding High Schools

Boarding high schools are learning institutions owned by private schools and other non-government organizations. They belong to the so-called alternative schools which provide different approaches in education. Boarding high schools and other alternative schools are now well accepted in the US and in other progressive countries of the world. Since they are owned by private schools their fees are also higher than public high schools but they provide quality education by using new approaches.

In a boarding school setting, the school provides student villages and dormitories where enrolled high school freshmen live as well as their teachers and other school assistants. This means there is always hands on the learning process since the students can easily approach their teachers even during off hours. More than half of the students in boarding schools are international students. They find this set up more convenient since when they enrol they are immediately housed to the villages and there's no hard efforts looking for apartments and other boarding houses. The students can select boarding school packages such as weekly, monthly or full boarding. International students usually choose full boarding since they come from foreign countries and are looking for apartments with easy access to the school which is very difficult especially in the metropolis.

Recent survey showed parents are more satisfied in boarding high schools because after graduation from the school they've noticed big changes in the behaviour of their children. They became independent-minded students and very responsible as compared with the years they were in traditional schools. Many believe that there is 90 percent quality of education in boarding high schools because there is good student-teacher ratio of 1:45 which is the ideal. Boarding schools are smaller schools with only a very limited number of students. This means the teacher can really give his best because he is only teaching a small number of students. There is not much stress on the part of the teacher and the environment is not crowded with students.
