Public High Schools
Public high schools are institutions for learning financed, managed and controlled by the government as part of its campaign to give education to its people. Many states in the United States territories and even around the world give free education as a privilege given to average families. However, in public high schools even the wealthy are also allowed to enrol and the schools were established by the government for everyone to benefit. Since public high schools are wholly-owned by the government, everything from teacher's salaries and benefits, school maintenance, facilities, and all other school expenses are subsidized by the government. The annual expenditures of running a school come from the taxes of the people.
Public high schools system is only traditional system of education and it does not operate boarding high schools, military high schools and other alternative schools. The government usually follows the traditional way and method of teaching. This means only private high schools are operating this so-called boarding school types we can see in the US and in other progressive countries of the world. The government viewed this as additional expenses if they too invested in this so-called alternative type of education.
It has been spending millions of dollars annually to operate public schools all over the country. In spite of the fact that it does not operate alternative high school types it still has the biggest population against all the private high schools combined. This is because it offers free education for elementary and secondary education. This is also the main reason why almost 70 percent of the enrolees in elementary and secondary are enrolled in government schools. Though there is also the notion that the quality of education is better in private schools rather than in the government schools. This may be true but the government has been doing its part to upgrade its facilities not to log behind highly-financed private high schools, as well as it also do its best in giving the quality of education the children deserve.
